Abstract
The text in question has some historical riches, while in its first part, it chronologically gives an account of the hydroelectric industry in the country, especially in Medellín, when in 1895 the Compañía Antioqueña de Instalaciones Eléctricas de Medellín was created, where they were combined public and private capital. It also emphasizes the transformations in the use of the waters of the municipality from 1800 to 1920. Then it points out the bets in favor of the demand for electricity that was presented in the territory, which is why the construction of hydroelectric plants such as Piedras Blancas and the Guadalupe I, Guadalupe II plants.
